چکیده
The aim of this study was to examine the association between DNA hypermethylation and dlinicopathological features of non-small cell lung cancers (NSCLCs). The DNA methylation status at the DJ7SS loci, at which a candidate tumor suppressor gene, HIC-1 (hypermethylated in cancer), was identified, of 51 paired tumor and nontumorous lung tissue specimens from NSCLC patients was examined by Southern blot analysis, using a methylation-sensitive restriction enzyme. DNA hypermethylation at this locus was found in 17 (33%) tumors and 16 (31%) nontumorous lung tissues. DNA in hypermethylation at this locus occurred more fre quently in poorly than in well-differentiated tumors, especially in adeno carcinomas, and correlated significantly with the differentiation grade (P = 0.01). DNA hypermethylation at the D17S5 locus correlated signif icantly with the loss of heterozygosity at this locus in tumors (P = 0.01). The incidence ofDNA hypermethylatlon was significantly higher in smok era than those who had never smoked in both tumors and nontumorous lung tissues (P = 0.03 and P 0.01, respectIvely). These results suggest that DNA hypermethylation at the DJ7SS locus may play a role in the development of NSCLCS in cigarette smokers.

Title: Evaluation of expression and methylation of promoter of JAK2 and STAT3 genes in lung cancer tissue and its comparison with adjacent healthy tissue in 75 people with this cancer. Objective: Lung cancer is a disease that affects lung tissue cells. It is a common cancer in the world and is one of the deadliest cancers. Molecular variations of genes have a significant effect...
متن کاملInvestigation of lung normal tissue doses in lung tumors radiation therapy using both gated and conventional radiotherapy
Introduction: In radiation therapy of lung tumors, respiratory motion causes target moving, so a larger margin is needed to cover the clinical target volume (CTV). With the margin increasing, a larger volume of normal tissue will be exposed to high-dose. In this study, dosimetric parameters of normal lung tissue were compared between gated and conventional radiotherapy (RT), u...
متن کاملInvestigation the potential of Boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) to treat the lung cancer
Introduction: Boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) is recommended to treat the glioblastoma tumor. It is well known that neuron beams are more effective treatment than photon beams to treat hypoxia tumors due to interaction of neutron with nucleus and production of heavy particles such as 7Li and alpha particle. In this study to evaluate the suitability of BNCT for treating of ...

Background: Breast cancer is the malignancy in humans and other mammals. Several risk factors are involved in their appearance such as higher hormone levels and obesity. Identification of a mouse mammary tumor virus supports a viral etiology for breast tumors in animals. Viruses have been implicated in the development of various cancers, but viral induction for formation breast cancer is contro...
متن کاملComparison of ALK status between primary and corresponding lymph node metastatic tumors in lung cancer patients
Background The anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) protein has recently become a promising target in the treatment of non-small cell lung carcinomas(NSCLC) patients with ALK translocation because of the high response rates obtained with an ALK inhibitor. ALK translocations are present in approximately 3-5% of NSCLC patients. According to the literature, little information about the relationship of...
